April 1 CFA Update

Carolina Film Alliance Impacting State House!

With South Carolina film and TV projects dependent on the support of South Carolina House and Senate members, the CFA continues working with elected officials to ensure the film industry’s future in South Carolina is bright!

Film Commission Update

CFA officials continue working with elected officials to make sure that the film industry has solid standing in the agency in which it is housed – the South Carolina Parks Recreation and Tourism agency. CFA officials are excited to announce that the Film Commission continues receiving support from agency officials, such as SC PRT Director Duane Parrish, as well as elected officials who are committed to protecting the film industry.

Attracting More Film

Team CFA continues working with legislators to endorse a plan to permanently provide rebates to the film industry, with the intent of attracting more films to South Carolina and growing the state’s film industry. Permanent wage rebates and supplier rebates will provide stability for the state’s film industry. It will also make it easier for productions to budget for projects in South Carolina.

Strength in Numbers

Team CFA is creating a film industry coalition – a state wide alliance of film industry officials, film supporters, chambers of commerce, convention and visitors bureaus, and local merchants in order to assist CFA in its legislative efforts.
